FAQ
Is there a size limit?
50 MB for PDF, images and audio; 500 MB for video. PDF, image and audio files are loaded into memory, video streams from disk. Very large files can slow the browser down.
Which browsers work?
Current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari — desktop and mobile.
What does PDF → Word keep?
“Editable text” carries over headings, text styling, lists and images; multi-column and table-heavy pages can shift. “Keep page layout” gives an exact look but the text is not editable. Scanned PDFs are not run through OCR.
Which image formats?
In: JPEG, PNG, WebP. Out: PNG, JPEG, WebP.
Which audio formats?
In: MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC and the audio track of video files (subject to your browser's codecs). Out: MP3 or WAV.
Which video formats?
In: MP4, WebM and MOV (depending on browser codecs). Out: MP4 in Safari and current Chrome, WebM in Firefox; GIFs and frame images are the same everywhere.
Why do video jobs take a while?
Compressing and trimming re-encode the video in real time: a one-minute video takes about a minute. Keep the tab open until it finishes.
Any tracking or cookies?
No. No analytics, ads or third-party scripts, and nothing is stored in your browser.
Why is the result not what I expected?
Encrypted PDFs will not open, scanned PDFs are not OCR'd, JPEG turns transparency white, and already compressed files may not shrink further. The note on each tool explains its limits.
